About Aubrey & the Studio
A one-chair nail studio in Cedar City, run by a licensed nail tech who would rather do one set properly than three in a hurry.
Polished by Bug is Aubrey, a licensed nail technician working out of a studio suite at 88 E Fiddlers Canyon Rd in Cedar City. "Bug" is a nickname that stuck, and it ended up on the sign.
The studio runs by appointment only, one client at a time. That is a deliberate choice rather than a scheduling quirk. It means nobody is left sitting under a lamp while their tech starts someone else's fill, and it means there is time to actually design a set instead of picking the fastest thing on the shelf.
The work
Aubrey's specialty is creative nail art. Hand-painted florals, chrome and shimmer finishes, checkered and ombré patterns, themed seasonal sets, and clean French tips all come out of the same chair. Some clients arrive with a folder of inspiration photos and some arrive with a vibe and a color, and both are workable starting points.
Underneath the art, the fundamentals matter more. Proper prep, a well-balanced apex, and safe removal are what keep your natural nails healthy through set after set. Nail health comes before length or drama, and if a set is not going to work on your nails Aubrey will say so and suggest something that will.
